That's all folks

Well, don't think this is the final entry, but got bad news Thursday. Pet scan showed a lot of cancer still there and since I haven't responded to the previous treatment, there isn't anything anyone can do now except keeping me out of pain. I'm quite the wimp when it comes to pain. Pain=horrible attitude first thing to show up. Kinda said goodbye to doctor [think I pulled on his heart strings a little].

Did the living will thing. DNR, no feeding tube, breathing tube, etc. Only thing that he would have done different was no blood products, but the red blood transfusions seem to perk me up when they are really low. So I went with blood products okay. I also chose no IV antibiotics, fluids. Kinda worried about that later, but advanced oncology nurse said the fluids were more of life 'support' rather than I'm dehydrated and need some saline. Also said that things can always be change, if needed.

Had 2 units of blood and attitude was much better today. In fact when I got up this morning felt much better. Still a little tired (low count), but attitude much better. Decided to do a little computer work rather than take a nap. Napping seems to take a little more out of me.

Got signed up with Hospice and I think there is a lot of help there. Found out and am set up for them to come out and do blood draw for tests so I don't have to come in to CDA and then either wait or come back later to get treatment if needed. They will even help with bathing and tons other needs. Heard lot's of good stuff about them. Bit depressing thinking about what's ahead, but enough of this for now.

Anyway, I'm always open for a cell phone call (not home phone), since I usually have that by me all the time. I may not be up to long chats, but 'yakkity yak' I'll try to talk back at least for a while.

I love you all very much and really appreciate all your love and prayers coming my way. Please keep them coming!

Love to all

Sue,

There is nothing I and we in your library family would not do for you. I even volunteer Steve and my sister for any task or errand-no matter what, day or night.

We are all beside you through this and wish there was more we could do for you and your family. In those dark moments think of us, we are all right there with you, holding your hand and with you in spirit.

We are holding on to hope and sending all the positive thoughts and prayers we can out your direction.

We love you!

Sue,

If Karen can volunteer Steve, then I can volunteer Chris. He's good with heavy lifting. ;)

We love you so much.

God bless,
Marie

So, today's another day. Aren't we lucky to have that? Today the cats decided it was warm enough to play in the backyard trees and balance precariously on the fence. Oh, joy. It's over 20 degrees, it's not snowing, and the day is bright. Happy, happy cats. The squirrels (all five of them) are fat and sassy about the 2 pounds of peanuts that were put into their feeder box last night. So today is a happy critter day all around. We are almost done with the eternal remodel. Might even be able to move some furniture into the new bedroom this weekend. The second bathroom has already come in handy more than once. Nathan and his new wife Edna are heavy into the "Rock Band" wii game. They have created a complete band with some of their other friends on base and spend al lot of their time just goofin off. Which is as it should be for the oh, so young. Josh's good news is that he will get to leave Africa on April 22nd. So he will actually get to be in the hospital room with Christi when his new baby boy (who they'll name JJ) is born. That is so exciting to all of us. I crocheted a baby blanket and sent it off last weekend. So they have that. And this weekend, I'll box up the new baby clothes we bought for the little guy and they'll have that as well. We hope to see them on vacation here during the last week of July and the first week of August. That's all teh news from my end. How are you doing today? We miss you around here, ya know? Just tain't the same. -Clydene
